Malcolm Wayne Hartwig

Graduated UPE 1986, Malcolm received a Murray & Roberts bursary and worked with them in 1985 and 1986 during his final two years at university. After graduation he was transferred to the Free State / Northern Cape branch of Murray & Roberts where he worked as a contracts manager on a shopping centre in Pampierstad and a ten story office block in Bleomfontein. In 1999 he was transferred to Murray & Roberts Southern Cape, initially for Electrical substations on Mossgas and various other contracts, including offices, warehousing, shopping centres and residential, in George, Knysna, and Plettenburg Bay. During this time he started his Masters Degree at the University of Pretoria.

In 1996 Malcolm was head hunted by Barrow Projects, a national project management company based in Johannesburg, as a project manager. Projects undertaken over the next three years with Barrow Projects included the Sunilaws office Park in East London, and two warehousing and cold storage projects. During this period he completed his MSc (Real Estate) and passed the PMI PMP certification.

From 2000 to 2005 Malcolm worked for Sivest SA (Pty) Ltd as a Division Director of their project management division, and was responsible for various building and Mechanical / Chemical projects, including an MTN call centre, and an upgrade / enlargement of the NCP Alcohols factory where the facility produced potable and industrial alcohol from molasses (suger cane waste product), and increased the production from 76 to 180 kilolitres per day.

After a two year period as an independent consultant, Malcolm joined Auspex Project Solutions in 2007, as the Projects Director. The Auspex group have been responsible form a number of developments in Port Elizabeth, including Brooks View, The Pearls, and the 18 storey Radisson Blu Hotel.
